Village Green Kikuyu is another new variety in the growing family of Male Sterile Kikuyu grasses. Like the other new MSK types, Village Green was specially developed to have new characteristics for Kikuyu in all the traits where the old style common Kikuyu may have fallen short.
This Australian bred Kenda Kikuyu lawn is proving very promising in common usage, as it holds superior green winter colour, including areas where frosts and cold winters can cause many lawns to brown off.
Originally native to the highlands of East Africa, Kikuyu turf is now neutralised in many coastal regions of Australia. It grows very vigorously and for this reason, it one of the most durable lawns around, tolerating long dry patches.
